Lisa Cusack, CEO

Lisa R. Cusack is the Chief Executive Officer of Custom Software Systems, Inc. (CSS), where she steers corporate strategy, financial operations, contract management, and human resources. A Virginia Tech alumna and Certified Public Accountant, she began her career in public accounting in 1985, later founding her own practice in 1996. She joined CSS in 2008, focusing on financial and contractual leadership, and in 2009 was appointed CEO by the company’s Board of Directors.

Under her leadership, CSS became an SBA-certified HUBZone and Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) and achieved CMMI Level 2 for Services and ISO 9001:2015 Certification, reflecting her commitment to operational excellence. Under Lisa’s vision, CSS has earned multiple recognitions and awards. Most recently, CSS received national recognition—the Trailblazer Strategic Connections Award at the National HUBZone Conference, highlighting her leadership in both business growth and community engagement.

As part of her corporate role, Lisa champions outreach and inclusion. Under her direction, CSS collaborates with the Loudoun County Job Link program to provide meaningful jobs for individuals with disabilities and actively supports community organizations and nonprofits, including Loudoun Hunger Relief, Tree of Life Ministries, Loudoun County Parks, Educando Con Amor (Educate With Love) and Breakthrough T1D (formerly Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation(JDRF)).
